The Kia KV7 Concept - will show at the 2011 Detroit Motor Show
We’ve got used in recent years to the Koreans - in the guise of Hyundai and Kia – presenting more and more credible concepts which go on to become equally credible production versions. So the news that Kia are taking a new concept to the Detroit Motor Show in January – the Kia KV7 Concept - is something we should probably take quite seriously as a pointer to a new model. The fact that Kia allude to the production versions of cars like the Kia Soul and Kia Sportage being close in style to the concepts that preceded them in their press release on the KV7 also makes it an extremely strong possibility that the KV7 Concept is pointing to a new model from Kia.
THE WHEEL is being reinvented with the development of an airless tyre for cars that could put an end to punctures and be kinder to the environment. Currently being developed by Bridgestone, the Air-Free Concept Tyre has an exterior tread that looks normal but inside there are plastic spokes that support the outer casing. This does away with the need to pump up the tyres, which means a puncture is no longer a problem as the tyre cannot deflate.

Trident’s new Iceni sportscar sounds like a dream machine – the Norfolk-based low volume carmaker claims its two-seater grand tourer can top 200mph, swings with a 550bhp turbo-enhanced punch for a sub-four second sprint to 60mph and can return up to 100mpg for a claimed 2000 mile range on a full tank of fuel! Oh, and did we mention that fuel is biodiesel?What? That sounds amazing!Hold your horses there.
